Sinopsis
Funambulista del tiempo es una obra de teatro global en la que se entrelazan desde la ternura y el miedo hasta la alegría y el amor, a través de distintas disciplinas artísticas (la pintura, el canto, la música, la danza y la danza aérea, la poesía y el teatro).
Un todo repleto de emociones que nos enzarza en nuestras propias historias, en ocasiones de forma simbólica; como el trapecio, que le mece en su pasado, o las telas donde se cobija para volver a renacer; y en otras, de forma explícita; a través de versos y seres grotescos que aparecen y desaparecen entre las bailarinas que conforman los pensamientos de nuestra protagonista. Versos, seres y danza que se intercalan con la música conduciendo irremediablemente al interior de Emma a un mundo que se desarrolla a través del baile de sus sensaciones, dejando siempre una ventana abierta a la esperanza.
Una historia que se apoya escénicamente de lo grotesco-fantástico y de lo grotesco-cómico. El punto de partida que une la pintura, los poemas y Emma son los monstruos, seres fantásticos que se crean y desarrollan en espacios inaccesibles a la realidad, en este caso en su conciencia (en los recuerdos que los alimenta), representados por pensamientos y las imágenes pictóricas de María Balibrea. En pocas palabras, la fantasía para contar la realidad.
Los recursos y figuras escénicas tienen vinculación con las representaciones pictórica de lo grotesco, alegorías como son los híbridos humano-pájaro, el bestiario de las arañas, el imaginario por medio de las telas aéreas, el trapecio y el aro, la deformidad con telas que desfigura los rasgos de la cara en donde se proyectan personajes pictóricos con partes desproporcionadas o exageradas, lo grotesco-cómico a través de la danza de máscaras, las sombras, con teatro de la luz, la marginación por medio del desdoblamiento, etcétera. Imágenes donde el monstruo es un hecho social o de una degradación moral. No es un híbrido en un sentido físico, sino en un aspecto moral.
La fealdad a modo de contra-norma que se muestra como sociedad, o sea la contra-sociedad. Monstruos y seres marginales para representar la marginalidad silenciosa de Emma. Una marginalidad impuesta, el encarcelamiento en ella misma, que la oculta o mejor, la separa del mundo.

Funambulist of time is a global play in which are intertwined from tenderness and fear to joy and love, through different artistic disciplines (painting, singing, music, dance and aerial dance, Poetry and theater).
